Teaching STEM: Students Thinking, Evaluating, and Mastering
Patti Duncan, Manager, Techbook Instructional Implementation
Children are born problem-solvers. From an early age they figure out how to manipulate their world to get the desired
outcome. So, why does it seem so hard for them to apply the things we teach them in Science, Math and Engineering to
solve problems? Maybe it is the way we teach them! Critical thinking and problem solving skills are developed by
practicing and doing. This workshop will highlight ways to use digital resources from Discovery Education combined with
real world situations and hands-on experiences to turn the students of today into the problem-solvers of tomorrow!
